RESEARCH INSTITUTE IN FORESTED AGRONOMY

The Research Institute in Forested Agronomy is a scientific public establishment, created by decree N° 01159/PR/MRSEPN of Dec 11th, 1976.
It is under the triple supervision of the Ministry of Research and Technological Development, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Forested Economy.

MISSIONS
 


- To undertake and develop researches on plants; on animal, forested and fishery resources and upon rural economy, for the social and economic development of Gabon.

- To work in the development of inter African and international scientific cooperation, in its field of competence.

- To perform project prospections to the advantage of investors, in agronomic and forest fields (economic and technological studies)

- To promote national researchers and technicians, as well as the training of students and productors.

 

Objectives

- To workout a database on vegetable, animals, forested and fishery productions and also on rural economy for a sustainable development in Gabon ;

- To work on the development of interafrican and international scientific cooperation in his field of competences ;

- To lead for the benefits of investors, samples of studies in agronomical and forested fields (technical and economical studies) ;

- To promote national researchers and technicians trainings, as well as productors' and students'.

- Increase productivity ;

- Take part in food securisation ;

- Contribute to the development of forests and industrialization of the timber industry ;

- Enhance capacities
